The 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon Townsend is another terrific wine from the Antinori family's Antica estate. It offers up copious blackberry jam, cloves, menthol, licorice and bittersweet chocolate. There is plenty of opulence, but also a good deal of freshness to keep things in check.
The 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon Townsend Vineyard is a blend of 90% Cabernet Sauvignon and 10% Cabernet Franc. Deep garnet-purple in color, it features fragrant notes of blackcurrant cordial, Black Forest cake and mulberries with touches of garrigue, tilled soil and fallen leaves. The medium to full-bodied palate offers a great core of savory-laced fruit with a chewy texture and a long, earthy finish.
