2011 Levy & McClellan Ampersand Red

The 2011 Ampersand is a beautiful, expressive second wine that is just starting to show the first signs of aromatic maturity in its tobacco, spice and leather nuances. Bright acids lend brilliance to the red berry fruit, while lifted floral accents liven up the finish. The 2011 is lithe and delicate - as most wines are in this vintage - and yet it retains terrific energy and verve. I would prefer to drink it over the next handful of years.
