Score 92+/100 · Drink 2014-2023, Antonio Galloni, Vinous, Feb 2014
The 2011 Pinot Noir Reserve is a selection of old vines from parcels on both the east and west ridges. Rich and voluptuous in the glass, the 2011 is beautifully layered from start to finish. Dark red stone fruits, tobacco, flowers, plums, spices and licorice blossom in the glass as the Reserve opens up. My sense is that the 2011 could use another year or two to fully come together, as it is a bit compact today. Still, there is a wonderful sense of purity to the flavors and plenty of textural nuances. I can't wait to taste this with a little bit of bottle age.
