Tasting notes
The 2012 Syrah is fabulous. A host of black pepper, purple fruit, mint, spices and orange peel notes race across the palate. Here, too, the style is all about richness and breadth, but at the same time, there is plenty of varietal character in the glass. Hudson and Stagecoach are the fruit sources.

The 2012 Syrah is laced with dark red plums, new leather, spices, sage and rosemary. There is plenty of the mid-palate pliancy and expressiveness that is missing in the 2011. Layered, rich and expressive, the 2012 impresses for its balance and class. This is a typical 2012 Syrah built on generous fruit, pure radiance and compelling balance. Winemaker Aaron Miller used 40% whole clusters here.
