Score 90/100 · Drink 2015-2023, Antonio Galloni, Vinous, Oct 2015
In keeping with the style of the vintage, the 2012 Cabernet Franc is soft, open-knit and quite accessible. Sweet red cherry, mint, spice and anise add nuance. There is plenty of near and medium term appeal here.

The 2012 Cabernet Franc East Block is typical of this era. Dark, potent and quite brooding, the 2012 offers tons of fruit intensity along with copious new French oak to match. All things considered, the 2012 has held up well, although the strong oak imprint obscures quite a bit of varietal expression. The energetic, vibrant finish brings some Franc character into the foreground. This is a wine of its time.
