The 2019 Pinot Noir Trout Gulch is a heady, explosive wine. Soaring aromatics make a strong opening statement. Crushed red berry fruit, mint, white pepper, chalk and layers of whole cluster savoriness from the 70% stems infuse the 2019 with layers of dimension. As always, the Trout Gulch is marked by its focused, nervy personality. It’s not an obvious wine, but rather a Pinot that is all nuance, all class.
