Tasting notes
Full bright ruby. Deep, loamy aromas of blackcurrant, black cherry, dark chocolate, mocha and tobacco. Rich, round and broad in the mouth but without any impression of heaviness. Lovely sweetness to its deep dark fruit and licorice flavors enlivened by minerality. This palate-saturating wine shows the fleshiness and ripeness of the vintage (there's virtually no greenness here!) without sacrificing energy. Finishes with substantial broad, palate-coating tannins and excellent building length. Very impressive, and a satisfying mouthful right now. (ST)

Another gorgeous wine from this vintage, the 2010 Cabernet Sauvignon Entre Deux Meres bursts from the glass with vibrant dark cherries, plums, mocha and espresso. Layers of aromas and flavor cover every inch of the palate in this powerful, structured, Cabernet Sauvignon. There is an element of vibrancy and freshness in the 2010 that is compelling. This is a hugely delicious wine from Lisa Drinkward and Francoise Peschon. Anticipated maturity: 2016-2025. Lisa Drinkward and Francoise Peschon started this project as a way to have fun making wine with their respective young families. The Cabernet Sauvignon is sourced from vineyards in Calistoga and Oakville, and typically includes a dollop of Petit Verdot. Tel. (707) 963-6156
