2018 Pax Syrah Alder Springs Vineyard

The 2018 Syrah Alder Springs Vineyard is a wine of tremendous precision and nuance. Although not as generous as some of the other Syrahs in the range, the Alder Springs more than makes up for that with its pure vibrancy. Dark blue/purplish fruit, lavender, spice and licorice infuse the 2018 with striking depth. There is an unctuous quality to the fruit, although the wine remains very much medium in body. Cellar it for a few years, or give it a few hours of air.
