Tasting notes
Cabernet Franc takes center stage in the 2015 Paramour. Savory herbs, mint, wild flowers, and sweet red cherry make a strong opening statement. The influence of Franc is especially evident in the wine's aromatic and structural signatures. A bit hushed today, the Paramour needs more time to be at its most expressive. There is plenty to look forward to.

The deep garnet-purple colored 2015 Paramour Proprietary Red, a blend of 93% Cabernet Franc, 5% Merlot and 2% Cabernet Sauvignon, is scented of warm red and black currants, black cherries and underbrush with hints of pencil shavings and tobacco. The medium to full-bodied palate offers chewy tannins, crunchy fresh fruit and a long, earthy finish.
The 2015 Paramour is powerful, deep and tannic, with intense dark fruit and equally formidable tannins. It will be interesting to see where the 2015 goes. Today, it comes across as a bit raw and not fully together. The Paramour also has the highest percentage of Cabernet Franc among these wines, and Franc can be a bit unruly in the early going.
