Celia Welch makes this (and Scarecrow). Near Inglenook is a plot called Scarecrow, sold in about the 1970s to an LA family, in movies. Recently the owners have realised the potential of the vineyard. This is a blend of fruit from Pritchard Hill, Rutherford and Oakville and very gentle and friendly. Not hot. Beautifully blended but not a terroir wine. (JR)

The 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon, a blend of different vineyards from Pritchard Hill, Rutherford and Oakville, is a beautifully balanced wine displaying a dense ruby/purple color along with a sweet nose of cedarwood, Christmas fruitcake, crème de cassis and loamy notes. Full-bodied, velvety, dramatic and sensual, the aromatics and forwardness suggest drinking it over the next 10-15 years
Full ruby-red. Much more reticent on the nose today than the 2011, hinting at primary black fruits and licorice. Sweet, fine-grained and very ripe but still a tad youthfully raw and in need of more time in barrel to fill in and harmonize. This tactile, energetic wine is clearly longer than the 2011 but tricky to taste today.
