Tasting notes
Nicely mature but in no danger of sliding downhill anytime soon, the 2007 Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer To Kalon offers gorgeous cassis fruit framed by lovely cedar, plus hints of developed leather and cigar box. Full-bodied, creamy and supple, it's drinking well now and should continue to do so for another decade.

(15.1% alcohol; from Clone 6): Full medium ruby. Sexy aromas of blackberry, cassis, violet and mint lifted by a very distinctive and rather exotic white fruit topnote (apricot?). Still a bit tight but juicy and sharply delineated, with the alluring white fruit quality carrying through on the palate. Intensely flavored, perfumed and refined, and not at all overly sweet. The wonderfully long, rising finish features suave, fine-grained tannins and lovely lift.
