Score 95/100 · Drink 2017-2022, Jeb Dunnuck, Dec 2017
The first vintage for this cuvee, the 1978 La Landonne is now fully mature and reveals beautifully perfumed notes of cured meats, dried flowers, spice, olives and forest floor. Silky, elegant and polished, yet still with fabulous depth of fruit, it’s tannin is completely resolved and this classy, regal Côte Rôtie blossoms with time in the glass. There’s no upside to holding bottles, and if you’re lucky enough to have any of this elixir, I’d plan on drinking bottles over the coming 4-5 years.

Amazingly deep vibrant look. Lots of layers. Very dense. Lush and gorgeous nose and initial palate impact. A bit tough on the end. A wine with high cheekbones. (JR)
