Smoky nose – a bit richer than the 2008 I tasted recently. Solid and a tad heavy and stodgy. Lots to chew on. Could do with a bit more freshness. (JR)

Lightly caramel edge on the nose and then a bit light and tart on the palate. Not one of his greatest wines. Hint of cappuccino. (JR)

Bright pale yellow. Pure, discreet scents of peach, fresh apricot, pepper and menthol. Brisk and fresh in the mouth, with a lovely sugar/acid balance to the flavors of white peach, white flowers, spices and minerals. Pure but youthfully tight wine, in a polite style but with lively acidity and a subtly long aftertaste.
