Score 85/100 · Drink 1990-1993, Robert Parker, Jan 1998
The 1982 Fonroque is made in an open-knit style, with an intensely fruity, spicy, plummy fruitiness. This full-bodied wine has dark ruby color with some amber, a velvety texture, and a soft, generous finish. It is big, plump, and decadently fruity with plenty of ripe tannins. It should be drunk over the next several years. Anticipated maturity: Now. Last tasted, 1/90.
