Score 86/100 · Drink 1990, Robert Parker, Jan 1998
The 1983 Monbrison is the first in a series of very good to outstanding wines from this estate. The wine has shed much of the tannin and now reveals an open-knit, spicy, toasty, curranty nose, soft, nearly fat, round flavors, and ample body and alcohol in its moderate length. Anticipated maturity: Now. Last tasted, 3/90.
