Ripe brick red, the 2019 Barbaresco Serracapelli is spicy on the nose with notes of licorice, dried red cherries, dusty earth, and dried pine needles. Medium-bodied, with drying tannins, even acidity, and a good finish, it’s grippy up front, but it settles down on the finish and is quite pleasing and retains nice freshness. Drink 2024-2030.

The 2019 Barbaresco Serracapelli is a deep, virile wine. Macerated cherry, spice, leather, tobacco, incense, sage, underbrush and dried flowers all grace this intriguing, layered Barbaresco. I would give this a year or two to come together. There's a lot of wine here.
