Tasting notes
Cascina Adelaide's 2013 Barolo Fossati pours from the bottle with the beautifully garnet-hued appearance and lean texture that you can expect from textbook Nebbiolo. This pretty wine offers a delicate approach with fine aromas of wild berry, crème de cassis, smoke and spice. This wine has moved along its evolutionary track with grace and positive momentum. It should hold nicely for both medium and long-term drinking.

Barolo. Tasted blind. Maturing ruby with orange tinges. Quite ripe nose with hints of incense. Same ripeness on the palate but with plenty of acidity to give it energy. Lots of powdery tannins. Not super-complex, but attractive and can already be approached. (WS)
