(100-year-old vines) Palish bright red. Very ripe cherry aroma lifted by a rocky perfume. Sweet and creamy on entry, then a bit youthfully aggressive, with a note of resiny oak giving the finish a slight dry edge. I love the wine's perfume, but it's not following through in the mouth yet. Laurent describes this wine as "old-fashioned" and says it was very lightly extracted. (I was unable to taste Laurent's Estournelles Saint-Jacques and Clos Saint-Jacques, as they were in another cave
