Tasting notes
The terrific 2001 Zinfandel Tofanelli Vineyard (15.3% alcohol) reveals a superb nose of caramel, black fruits, spice, and licorice. With seamlessly integrated tannin and acidity, this full-bodied, concentrated 2001 has no hard edges, and cuts a generous, expansive feel on the palate without any heaviness or hotness. Consume it over the next 4-5 years. Tel. (707) 963-0940

Medium ruby. Roasted, sappy aromas of dark berries, black cherry, chocolate and pepper. Dense, rich and chewy but slow to unfold. Very ripe, almost porty aftertaste features substantial, building tannins. This vineyard always takes longer to show itself, notes Jordan.
