Tasting notes
The 2004 Rocket Block James Berry Vineyard reveals more elegance and finesse than its older sibling, but not quite the weight, muscle, or extraordinary concentration. It possesses good underlying acidity as well as plenty of sweet black cherry notes intermixed with licorice, damp earth, and barrique notes. Pure, with medium to full body, and beautiful persistence and aromatics, it should drink well for a decade. I highly recommend that wine enthusiasts who love Rhone Ranger wines pay a visit to the James Berry Vineyard, one of the true grand cru sites in the region. Tel. (805) 227-4662
