Tasting notes
Medium red. Dark raspberry, gunflint, peony and brown spices on the perfumed nose. Sweet but juicy and penetrating, with lovely focus to its generous flavors of raspberry, minerals and spices. The spice character carries impressively on the long finish, which features a fine dusting of tannins. This has turned out very well and has the balance to evolve at a leisurely pace.

Bright, deep red. Red raspberry, spices, fresh herbs and flowers on the expressive nose. Juicy and energetic, with a compelling sweetness to the flavors of crushed red berries, spices and earth. Wonderfully perfumed, palate-staining wine, finishing with sweet, fine tannins and a whiplash of flavor.
Like his father's Clos de la Roche, not giving much away. Tannins are fine but compact, enclosing some peppery dark hidden fruit. It's very good but it's also very expensive. Remarkable persistence. (JH)
