Tasting notes
The 2017 Cabernet Sauvignon Mount Veeder (100% varietal aged in 80% new barrels) offers more green tobacco, blackcurrants, graphite, chargrill, and piney/forest floor notes as well as a full-bodied, rich, beautifully textured style on the palate. It has classic Mount Veeder structure yet backs it up with gorgeous fruit and length. It needs to be hidden for at least 4-5 years and will keep for two decades.

Composed of 100% Cabernet Sauvignon and aged for 22 months in French oak, 80% new, the 2017 Cabernet Sauvignon Mount Veeder sports a very deep purple-black color and gives up notes of crushed black cherries and blackberries with an undercurrent of raisin cake, espresso and dusty soil plus wafts of hoisin and sauteed herbs. The medium-bodied palate is refreshing and elegantly played with soft, well-managed tannins and a lively line lifting the ripe, spicy black fruit preserves flavors, finishing with a lingering herbal lift. 897 cases were made.
