Tasting notes
There are 500 cases of the super-concentrated, full-bodied, fat, luscious, dark purple-colored 1998 Pinot Noir Kistler Vineyard. Made from the Calera clone, it offers a juicy, black cherry, berry, earth, mineral, and spice-scented nose. In the mouth, beef blood and black fruits are present, along with copious fat, glycerin, and moderate tannin. A sumptuous Pinot Noir, it will be fascinating to follow over the next decade or more. About the producer

Kistler’s Chardonnays are some of the world’s most sought-after. This cult Californian producer crafts small volumes of exceptional, rich and generous, yet mineral and precise wines. With almost the entire production sold directly to their mailing list, the wines are also incredibly hard to find.
