Vivid ruby. Powerful, mineral-accented aromas of candied red and blue fruits, potpourri and licorice. Chewy, tightly focused black raspberry and boysenberry flavors show a suave floral quality and building spice character. This powerful yet energetic pinot finishes long and penetrating, with intense finishing spiciness; supple tannins sneak in late to add shape and grip.
Another wine from one the best sites in this portfolio, the 2012 Pinot Noir Hyde Vineyard is wonderfully complex in the glass. Dark red cherry, smoke, tobacco, incense and game all rush from the glass. There is an intensity and energy in the 2012 that is impossible to miss. The 2012 stands out for its complexity and real sense of character. Rose petal, hard candy, menthol and wild flowers linger on the close.
