Score 85/100 · Drink 2008, Robert Parker, Aug 1999
The 1995 Barolo Lazzarito exhibits a moderately intense nose of cranberries, cherries, dried herbs, smoke, and earth. It is compressed in the mouth, displaying high levels of astringent tannin. Although it will drink well for 7-8 years, the wine lacks the concentration to stand up to its structure. Importer: Franklin Selections, Annapolis Junction, MD; tel. (410) 880-4790

Slightly deeper red. More perfumed, complex aromas of dried flowers, currants, underbrush, minerals and lead pencil. Thicker and sweeter on entry, then high pitched and tightly wrapped. Finishes with firm tannins.
