Once again, Conterno's Barbera d'Alba Cerretta is captivating. An exotic mélange of dark red and blue fruit, smoke, licorice, raspberry jam and cloves come to life in an immediate, voluptuous Barbera built on texture. I imagine the Cerretta will be even better in another year or two, but it is already super-expressive and simply delicious.
