Score 87-88/100 · Drink 2005-2010, Pierre Rovani, Jun 2004
The medium-bodied 2002 Volnay offers aromas of stones and dark cherries. This wine is sappy, fleshy, reveals excellent depth, and is loaded with black cherries. Pure, fresh, and balanced, it also reveals admirable structure. Anticipated maturity: 2005-2010. A Becky Wasserman Selection / Le Serbet; French Fax: 011-33-3-80-24-29-70, various American importers

Deep red. Vibrant, pure aromas of cherry, dark berries, licorice, chocolate and menthol. Sweet and supple, with cherry and mint flavors framed by sappy acidity. Finishes firm and persistent. An excellent village wine in the making, perhaps the best in years for this bottling.
