Tasting notes
The 2003 Cabernet Sauvignon Georges de Latour Private Reserve (100% Cabernet Sauvignon) performed well. It reveals a dense ruby/purple hue along with subtle aromas of vanillin, black currants and damp earth. This medium-bodied, elegant, fully mature 2003 would benefit from more texture and stuffing, but what is there is pure and well-made. It just lacks some personality and richness. It should continue to drink well for a decade. Tel. (707) 299-2692

Bright ruby-red. Cassis, licorice and bitter chocolate on the slightly medicinal nose; classic Rutherford character. Tightly wound and a bit unyielding, with dark fruit and mint flavors currently dominated by the wine's rather tough structure.Finishes with chalky tannins and a noticeable greenness. Will this soften with time in bottle?
