Tasting notes
Profound, the 1999 Pinot Noir Kistler Vineyard exhibits floral, black raspberry, berry, and earth notes. The wine is strikingly rich, with a velvety texture underpinned by good acidity, full body as well as superb density, purity, and equilibrium. This magnificent Pinot Noir should age for a decade. Bright deep red-ruby color. Sappy, precise aromas of raspberry, black cherry, licorice and spices. Then superripe in the mouth, with roasted yet fresh flavors of raspberry and strawberry. Rather elegantly styled pinot, finishing with firm tannins and subtle, lingering red fruit flavors.
About the producer

Kistler’s Chardonnays are some of the world’s most sought-after. This cult Californian producer crafts small volumes of exceptional, rich and generous, yet mineral and precise wines. With almost the entire production sold directly to their mailing list, the wines are also incredibly hard to find.
