Tasting notes
Very bright pale copper. Substantial wine with obvious sweetness on the front palate. A little broad and mealy. I could do with a tad more acidity and prefer their red Maranges. Ticks the boxes without being truly exciting. (JR)

Bright yellow with green highlights. Expressive aromas of lemon oil, white pepper, flowers and iodiney dusty stone. Rich, dense and sweet but with surprising acidity and strong minerality giving the mid-palate a penetrating quality. Finishes with a faint youthful bitterness.
The 2009 St. Aubin Les Charmois is a striking, classy wine graced with exquisite finesse in its ripe, juicy fruit. This is an especially forward, almost opulent style for the appellation, but all of the elements are beautifully balanced. The 45% new oak is well integrated. The finish turns exotic, creamy and undeniably appealing.

The malos were very fast, and were completed by January. The wines wre subsequently racked to steel and bottled in August 2010. I tasted all of the 2010s from barrel. It is a vintage I like very much here. Importer: Vineyard Brands, Birmingham, AL; tel. (205) 980-8802
