Tasting notes
The 2022 Pinot Noir Anderson Valley opens with a beautifully charming, red-fruited, floral and slightly earth-tinged nose. The palate is suave and spry, with a subtly creamy texture lined with bright fruit flavors and fine-grained tannins that peer out further with aeration. It's a poised introduction to the Rhys lineup.

The 2022 Pinot Noir (Anderson Valley) is a rich, boisterous wine that captures the essence of the appellation. A burst of dark red/purplish fruit hits the palate first, followed by complicating scents of lavender, spice, menthol, dried herbs and leather. Juicy and yet very much medium in body, the Anderson Valley Pinot is a total charmer. In 2022, all of the fruit is from plantings done by Rhys and does not include fruit from vines planted by the previous owner. It shows. This is an especially fine edition of the Anderson Valley Pinot. - Antonio Galloni
