Tasting notes
Bottled in May 2021, the 2019 Châteauneuf du Pape Blanc Cuvée A Tempo is a mix of Clairette, Grenache Blanc and Roussanne, made in a mix of barrels and concrete eggs. It's a bit riper and richer than the 2020, with hints of honeycomb, white peaches and citrus on the nose. It's medium to full-bodied, creamy across the mid-palate, then long and zesty on the finish.

Bottled in May, the 2019 Châteauneuf Du Pape Cuvée A Tempo Blanc is another incredible white from this estate. More melon, exotic tropical, and even hints of pear-like fruits as well as green almond and chalky mineral notes define the nose, and it’s racy and pure on the palate, with hints of licorice and salty minerality, bright acidity, a laser focused texture, and a great finish. Give it a year or two and enjoy over the following two decades. Laurence showed a clear preference for her 2020s during my visit, but I found many of the reds strangely reductive and hard to read.
