Tasting notes
Inky purple-black, the 2018 Petite Syrah Hayne Vineyard opens with cassis and baked blue fruits accented by olive, cured meats, aniseed, dried herbs and floral notes. The palate is full-bodied but restrained, with a ripe, grainy frame and nuanced fruits, and it finishes long with a bright pop of juiciness. Give it another couple years in bottle.

The 2018 Petite Syrah Hayne Vineyard is another exceptional wine in this range. Super-ripe dark red cherry, wild flowers, mint and spice are all wonderfully alive in this lush, inky Petite from one of the most pedigreed sites in St. Helena and Napa Valley more broadly. Time in the glass brings out a brighter set of red fruit, blood orange and floral notes to round things out beautifully. The Hayne is one of many highlights in this fabulous range of 2018s from Larry Turley and Tegan Passalacqua.
