Tasting notes
The 2002 Chardonnay Chloe tastes like the essence of a top Russian River site as most of this wine comes from the Dutton and Ritchie vineyards. A sweet perfume of orange skin, candle wax, brioche, white peaches, and earthy minerals is followed by an extraordinary Chardonnay that could easily pass as a Batard-Montrachet. Full-bodied, structured, and dense, with loads of richness, this beautiful Chardonnay is made in the image of a great white Burgundy. Drink it over the next 4-5 years. Tel. Subdued but complex nose melds soft citrus fruits, lemon and baking spices. At once lush and juicy, with lovely flavor intensity and a light touch. The Isobel bottling is brooding and stony, while this is more open today and showing more obvious sweetness. Very strong juice.
