Score 88/100 · Drink 2003-2011, Robert Parker, Dec 2003
The 2000 Cabernet Sauvignon Alexander Valley is a medium-bodied, soft, attractive effort with plenty of herbaceousness along with notes of figs, plums, and red currants. Made in an up-front style, it begs to be drunk over the next 7-8 years. My wine group recently did a vertical of all the Silver Oak Alexander Valley Cabernet Sauvignons, which proved several things. First, this is a surprisingly erratic producer. While some terrific efforts are produced, other wines have matured and faded quickly. Vintages since the mid-nineties have not been as intensely flavored, but they are still very good. This is generally an oaky (American wood), flashy, easy to drink offering. Tel.
