Tasting notes
Good full ruby. Blueberry, graphite and violet on the nose. Sweet, dense and powerful but nicely lifted by a floral element. Tactile, saline wine with sweet fruit framed by harmonious, racy acidity. Finishes long and firmly tannic, at once pliant and gripping. A very good vintage for this bottling.

The 2009 Cabernet Sauvignon Cimarossa Vineyard is a gorgeous, fleshy wine graced with expressive dark red fruit, anise, licorice and menthol. Silky tannins frame the supple finish. Today the Cimarossa comes across as delicate and feminine in personality.

Today the Cimarossa comes across as delicate and feminine in personality. Anticipated maturity: 2012-2019. This is a dazzling set of wines from Tor Kenward and his long-time winemaker Jeff Ames. Frankly, I could have spent an entire afternoon delving further into these fabulous wines. The 2009 Cabernets capture the best qualities of this refined, polished vintage, but the 2010s, which I tasted from barrel, are potentially even better. Tel. (707) 963-3100
