Deep inky ruby. Baked red and black fruit. Incredibly rich and dense nose with a light earthiness and a touch of oak. Chocolatey cocoa-nib tannin and rich layered density. Very long with good freshness to the finish. (SCJ)

Coming from two different sites in Coombsville, the deep purple-hued 2022 Cabernet Sauvignon has a beautifully focused, pure, concentrated style that's hard to find in the vintage, which generally produced upfront, soft, ready-to-go wines. Red and black fruits, lead pencil shavings, tobacco leaf, and scorched earth notes all give this a Graves-like vibe, and it's medium to full-bodied, balanced, has plenty of mid-palate depth, and outstanding length. It's going to have 15+ years of prime drinking.
Sourced from the cooler southern portions of Napa, Arietta's 2022 Cabernet Sauvignon escaped the worst of the vintage's heat wave. Hints of caramel and pencil shavings—the wine spent 20 months in 72% new French oak—join cherries, cassis and sage on the nose, while the full-bodied palate is structured, even a bit linear in style, with a concentrated, firm finish.
The 2022 Cabernet Sauvignon is dark, vibrant and exceptionally polished. Black cherry, plum, mocha, lavender and dried herbs all race across the palate. There's gorgeous depth and structure here, but youthful tannins need time to soften. This is an exceptional 2022.
