Based on 95% Cabernet Sauvignon and 5% Cabernet Franc from Beckstoffer To Kalon Vineyard and aged 16 months in French oak, the 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon Coeur De Vallée is deep ruby/plum-hued and full-bodied. It's round, layered, and seamless, with ultra-fine tannins, flawless balance, and classic red and black fruits, truffly earth, spice, and dried flower notes. This complex, balanced 2015 has gorgeous tannins and outstanding length. I think it is drinking absolutely brilliantly today yet see no reason it shouldn't have another 15-20 years of prime drinking. Drink 2026-2045.

The 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon Cœur de Vallée is dark, powerful and bursting at the seams with intensity. Black cherry, chocolate, menthol and licorice are all amped up. Even with all of its fruit intensity, there is an inescapable hardness to the tannin that lurks in the background, and that I don't feel will ever fully resolve. To be sure, the Cœur de Vallée is still a very good wine, but it doesn't quite reach the heights of the other Cabernets in this lineup.

Blended of 75% Cabernet Sauvignon and 25% Cabernet Franc, the 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon Coeur de Vallee has a deep garnet-purple color and slightly reticent nose at this youthful stage, revealing hints of crushed blackberries and blueberries with touches of loam, underbrush, garrigue, mocha and licorice. Medium to full-bodied, firm, concentrated and with great tension, it has lovely ripe, grainy tannins and plenty of earthy/meaty personality, which comes through on the palate and the long finish. 325 cases were made.
