This was always one of the “best buys” of the vintage and I recall buying a 12-bottle case for $70.00 when it was first released. It provided great drinking for a decade, then I forgot about the few bottles remaining in my cellar. It still offers surprisingly pleasant drinking, but it no longer sings like it did during its first decade of life. Slightly herbaceous and beginning to dry out, it reveals the tell-tale amber/rusty color at the edge, but the wine is still intact and possesses a certain vibrancy. However, aggressive tannins are beginning to overpower what little fruit remains. Drink it up. Release price: ($70.00/case)
