Score 87/100 · Drink 1997-2005, Robert Parker, Dec 1993
The 1991 Nuits St.-Georges-Les Pruliers is a much denser wine than the 1991 Nuits St.-Georges-Clos des Porrets, with adequate depth to balance out the noticeably high tannin. Medium to full-bodied, with excellent depth and precision, it offers an earthy, sweet, cassis-scented nose and long, ripe flavors. It will reward cellaring of 4-5 years and drink well for at least 12. The 1991 releases may turn out to be the most complete Gouges wines in over two decades. Although not exceptional, they display more color, bouquet, richness, and length than any vintage since Gouges' marvelous 1969s. Importer: Vineyard Brands (Robert Haas), Chester, VT.
