Tasting notes
(one-third vendange entier , from two higher-altitude parcels, says Leroux, one next to Romanée-Saint-Vivant and the other bordering Echézeaux): Bright, dark red with ruby highlights. Vibrant aromas of black raspberry, licorice and violet accented by stony minerality. A ripe, dense fruit bomb in the mouth, with dark berry flavors complemented by dark chocolate and exotic spices. Finishes with broad tannins and excellent length. Very Suchots!

The 2013 Vosne-Romanee 1er Cru Suchots has a crisp and focused bouquet with black cherry, strawberry and bergamot on the nose. The palate is medium-bodied with sweet ripe tannins, plenty of blackberry fruit and a slightly jammy finish. This is one of the few of Benjamin's wines to feel a little "forced".
