Tasting notes
Just mid ruby. Subdued, brooding marasca-cherry nose. Elegant, perfumed fruit on the palate with soft bitter-sweet tannins. More than correct. (WS)

Moving to the Barolo selections from Azelia, the 2021 Barolo is detailed and spicy on the nose with lifted notes of licorice, dried cherries, dried mint, and thyme. It’s a mid-weight offering with an easygoing and more weightless feel, with fine tannins and refreshing acidity. Drink over the next few years.
Quite evolved nose. Definitely distinctive – almost fast-tracked! Lacks a little freshness. (JR)
The 2021 Barolo is deep, succulent and layered. Dark-toned fruit, leather, spice, cedar and dried herbs build effortlessly in the glass. Floral and savory overtones play off a core of black cherry/plum fruit. All the elements are very nicely balanced. This is a fine showing from the Scavino family and a terrific wine in its peer group.
