Tasting notes
Wafting from the glass with aromas of golden orchard fruit, citrus oil, toasted nuts and a deft touch of new oak, the 2018 Meursault 1er Cru Les Charmes is medium to full-bodied, fleshy but incisive, with an elegantly textural attack, good depth at the core and a penetrating finish. Bottled after a year's élevage, this is already expressive, but it will come together further with additional bottle age.

The 2018 Meursault Les Charmes 1er Cru has a much more reserved bouquet than the Genevrières, offering crushed limestone and green apple aromas and erring toward Puligny in style. The taut, linear palate is very saline in style, a Meursault that gets the saliva flowing. Perhaps a more cerebral Meursault than expected, although the Genevrières has a bit more... charm.
