Tasting notes
The 2021 Nuits Saint-Georges Les Damodes 1er Cru sports some reduction on the nose, although behind that lies attractive brambly red berry fruit and earthy, almost peaty scents tucked in behind it. Clearly, this will need a couple more years to unfurl. The palate offers plenty of crunchy red fruit, quite tart at first, though it feels tensile and mineral driven. There is some tapering towards the finish where it would benefit from more substance and grip but overall, a good effort in this vintage. Tasted blind at the Burgfest tasting.
