2011 Hannibal

(an unconventional blend of 51% sangiovese, 13% pinot noir, 13% shiraz, 13% mourvedre, 6% nebbiolo and 4% barbera): Good medium red. Slightly muted aromas of red fruits, spices, mocha and flowers. Then sweet but a bit diffuse on the palate, with good texture but modest definition and verve to the plump red fruit and spice flavors. Not bad.
