Tasting notes
The 2014 Monteverro pours a dark purple/red hue and is more reserved on the nose within the range, with notes of leather, salted licorice, pencil shavings, and plum. It’s full-bodied but more savory, with an herbal component that accents the wine and offers a mouthwatering note of Amaro-like bitter herbs on the finish. Drink 2025-2032. Bottle number 7785 of 20476.

The 2014 Monteverro is 40% Cabernet Franc, 30% Cabernet Sauvignon, 20% Merlot and 10% Petit Verdot. Most of the wine (80%) is aged in new French oak for 24 months. Grapes are harvested from clay soil sites and each parcel is vinified separately. This is a beautifully crafted and intense red wine that delivers power, complexity and elegant extraction. Dark fruit folds into spice, leather and tobacco. The palate is slightly thinner and more streamlined in this vintage.
