Cask sample. Struck match on the nose. Just the right amount of reduction. Precise, elegant, focused. A very fine premier cru Chassagne which is drinking well already but has a very long future ahead. (AWH)

The 2020 Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru Clos Saint-Jean wafts from the glass with scents of pear, orange oil, white flowers and freshly baked bread. Medium to full-bodied, layered and seamless, with a taut core of fruit, chalky structuring extract and lively acids, it concludes with a saline finish.
