Sweet and simple nose with really racy attack. Very lively and still quite tight. Bone dry. Fairly uncompromising. Set for the long haul? (JR)
Pale gold. Light nose and very youthful and undeveloped. Lots of acidity and still a bit austere. Has not yet developed the Laville richness. Lightly oily. Lemony. Still tight and undeveloped. This opened up in the glass quite considerably and I would expect it to improve. (JR)
A sensational example of Laville, the light green/gold-hued 2005 offers up a superb bouquet of spring flower blossoms, melted wax, honeysuckle, caramel, ripe citrus, and a subtle hint of smoke. This superb, full-bodied, fabulously concentrated white should have 40 years of longevity.

Ch. la Mission Haut-Brion – sister estate of Ch. Haut-Brion and part of the Clarence Dillon stable – is one of the greatest estates in all of Bordeaux. Based in Pessac-Léognan but not officially classified, it produces outstanding red and white wines.
