The 2021 Châteauneuf Du Pape Côtes Capelan is a step up, with more cassis and darker cherry fruits as well as Provençal herbs, lavender, and leather notes. Complex, spicy, and medium to full-bodied, it has a forward, supple style that will allow it to drink nicely in its youth, yet the balance and depth to evolve for 10-12 years or more in cold cellars.

Tasted blind. Very dense, almost opaque in the glass. Damson, plum and cassis – a rich and very intense palate. Firm tannins, kirsch and plum with a sweet, ripe, concentrated style. Hedonistic and huge! (AC)
