Apricot fruit – very charming and ripe yet retains a light body and refreshing acid on the finish. (RH)

The 2013 Chardonnay Mays Canyon is a real beauty. Sweet floral notes open up first, followed by a core of intensely perfumed orchard fruit. As it was last year, the Mays Canyon has an exoticism to it that is hugely appealing. The 2013 can be enjoyed young, but it has the pedigree to develop in bottle for many years to come.
The 2013 Chardonnay Mays Canyon is wonderfully textured and voluptuous in the glass. Tangerine, honeysuckle and apricot pit meld into striking, deeply expressive aromatics. This is a decidedly exotic vintage for the Mays Canyon, with notable textural depth and resonance. Honeyed notes on the finish suggest the 2013 will develop into a Chardonnay with exotic overtones. There is a lot to look forward to. The 2013 is scheduled to be bottled in February 2015.
